Metaphor

Please post an example of a metaphor from your poetry novel. Also explain, in a sentence, the two items that are being compared. Include the page number.

    "The skin that is gone stretched tight, gloves squashing tight over tender bones that are no longer there." She is compareing the tight skin to a glove tight on a hand.

    This metaphor compares a rat hole to an apartment.

  15. A metaphor in Summerhouse Time is "I'm married to an angel." (pg.120) In this metaphor, Grandpa is saying that his wife is an angel because she is so sweet and caring to him.

    His eyes watching the T.V. and something being glued to something else are the two things being compared.

    Example: "Mom says he's a rock." This is comparing Rachel's Dad to a rock.

  26. A metaphor in Shakespeare Bats Cleanup is on page 41 whem he says, "So boys are players and girls are what... the diamond?" By saying this he is trying to explain the relation ship of boys and girls through the concept of baseball. Boys play the girls.

    The two things that are being compared is Juice and a rose that smells like plastic. Meaning that Junice is a girl that is actually real and true to herself.
