Metaphor

Please post an example of a metaphor from your poetry novel. Also explain, in a sentence, the two items that are being compared. Include the page number.

  3. On page 15 her belly remained empty as an ancient well. This is comparing a girls belly to an ancient well because an ancient well is going to be empty.

    The author is comparing poetry to food. Would you ask what a bowl of chili means when you're starving?

  26. An example of a metaphor I found in One of Those Hideous Books Where the Mother Dies on page 208 "... the way it turned the inside of your Mustang into a snug cocoon." They are comparing a Mustang to a cocoon.
