Boy in the Striped Pajamas

When Bruno dresses in the filthy striped pajamas, he remembers something his grandmother once said. "You wear the right outfit and you feel like the person you're pretending to be." (p, 205) How is this true for Bruno? What about his father? What does this statement contribute to the overall meaning of the story?

  1. Bruno has Shmuel get him pajamas so he can sneak in the camp and help him look for his dad. When bruno puts them on he feels what Shmuel feels even with his hair. he fells dirty and doesnt like it. It contributes to the overall meaning by him Putting on the pajamas he felt what he went through which was bad.

  2. This is true for Bruno because he becomes a jew. He is not really a jew but, he goes in the camp to pretend he is. This is true for his father because when he wears his commmander outfit. He becomes the commander he is in charge. He acts like this too. This statement comtributes to the story because when Bruno dresses up as a boy in some striped pajamas. That's the title he is wearing striped pajams. He is on the other side of the fence and seeing what is going on.

  3. its true to bruno because he can actually feel the way that the little boy feels and brunos father has no idea how the kids in the holocaust feel he just keeps doin it and the overall meaning of the story is dont be racest aginst what religon a person could be and dont hurt someone else because of your judgment.

  4. This is true about Bruno because he was playing the part of a jew.Bruno blended in as well as any other jews. His father would be playing the part of a commandent and he plays a cruel guy. The overall meaning of the book, of saying about the outfit thing is that, you shouldnt be judged in anyway because if you ever stepped into there shoes you would have a whole different meaning on life.

  5. This is true for Bruno because he is where his friends are and he is helping out samual. This qoute would apply to Bruno father because they had to move and he got a new uniform and so he is now pretending he is something he's not. The meaning of the statement contributes the the book because I would thing that it is one of the themes.

  6. The saying "You wear the right outfit and you feel like the person you're pretending to be", is true for Bruno because he is trying to fit in with the other hollicost boys in the camps so, he hased to dress up like them in order to get in to see Shmuel. It is true for his father to because he dresses like a soulder. He is trying to fit in with the other members of the Nazi group. This quote is true for the over all book because everyone in the book is trying to be like someone even if it mean dressing up in some nasty pajamas or just wearing a uniform.

  7. This is true for bruno because he alwase wears outfits that he loves. And he feels like the person that would were that outfit. And when he puts on the striped pajamas he feels like shmuel and feels afraid. Father dosent pretend he is the real deal. And if he did pretend he would be fired. This statement contributes to the overall story because Bruno puts on the striped pajamas and pretends to be a jew. And he dies like 6 million other jews did during the holocaust.

  8. When Bruno says "you wear the right right outfit you feel like the person you're trying to be" this is true for him because he is feeling what it is like to be the Jews and how awful they feel, look, and smell. This is true for his dad because when he is wearing his uniform he is a mean rude person to all the Jews and that is how is suppose to act when he is wearing that uniform because the NAZI's are the ones trying to get rid of all the Jews.

  10. Its True to Bruno because he feels how the boy on the other side of fence does. Bruno's father doesnt really see that what his job is making him do is very wrong. The overall lesson of the story is dont be "bias" towards people that aren't like you , treat people the way you like to be treated because everybody is different in there own way shape and form.

  11. Bruno feels the way the jews did in more then one way. One way is the filthiness of the clothes. He feels the way the jews were treated by the NAZI's.

  12. This is true for bruno because he is trying to fit in with Schmuel and all the other Jews in the Concentration camps. This is also true about his father because he is on of the officers in charge of "Out-With" where all the Jews are being relocated. This statment kinda goes along with the whole story because the setting is Germany during the Holocaust and people where trying to not be them selves and trying to not be a Jew and Hitler was blaming the Jews on there defeat in WWI so he is trying to blame it on someone else and not take matters into his own hands.

  13. This is true to Bruno because, wearing the clothing, he feels like a Jew. Just like his Father in his commander outfit. The overall meaning of the story is that, no matter what happens, friendship can not be broken.

  14. Bruno's father doesent get what he is doing to the jews is wrong. Bruno know that what his dad is doing is'nt fair to the jews.

  15. When bruno puts on those pajamas he feels like every one else in that camp, like a jew. This is all so true for his father because he plays the part as the bad guy in the book. I beleave that the whole story relates to this idea because you should not be judged by the clothes you were or what your religion is.
