An example of a metaphor would be when she says, "I try to be a clean slate." She is comparing herself with a clean slate. This example is on page 132.

An example of a simile in my book, "Everything is fine" is on page 131:

Mazzy is comparing her mom's face to glue.
"In a normal house the simple answer would be: close the door. But I do not live in a normal house." Compares her house in an apartment to her thought of a normal house.
